Candidate Temmy Olasimbo stands in front of Woodbury Central Park sign.

Hi, I’m Temmy.

I love people, and I love
Woodbury.

I’m Temitayo “Temmy” Olasimbo.

I was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, to migrant parents from Nigeria, who came here for a better educational opportunity. After graduating from the University of St. Thomas, they relocated to their home country when I was 9 months old. I lived with them in Nigeria until the age of 13, when I returned to the United States to further my own education. My quest for learning led me to Cottage Grove with my uncle, where I graduated from Park Senior High School at 15. I attended Southwest State University in Marshall, before transferring to Augsburg University and graduating with a Marketing degree with a minor in Political Science. I have been married to my husband, Ola, for 21 years. We’ve lived in Woodbury since 2006, and have built a wonderful life here with our children Lanre (18), and Lola (15).

I am a doer, an empathetic leader, a champion for the underdog, and an advocate for fairness and equity.

I am running for Woodbury City Council because I am passionate about the people of Woodbury. I want to challenge us to live up to our mission of Woodbury as “a leading community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive”. I will bring a unique and diverse perspective to the city. Now more than ever, the need to work together for the greater good is imperative for the future of our community and its members.

Woodbury deserves leaders who listen, engage the community, act with integrity and trust, admit vulnerabilities and — at the foremost — always hold the values of the community in which they serve dear. I bring with me a strong desire to listen, the tenacity to fight for what’s right, a curiosity to explore the endless possibilities, and years of experience working in the corporate and non-profit worlds where my leadership abilities have yielded tangible results. I humbly ask that we embark on this journey together. Learn more about my vision for our city, and support my work by contributing to or volunteering for my campaign.

Please vote for me on November 5.
